European Universities Walking Challenge
April 1-30
This April marks the launch of the first-ever European Universities Walking Challenge, bringing together students, academic staff, and entire university communities from across Europe in a shared movement challenge. The challenge will take place from 1 April to 30 April. The goal is to identify Europe’s most active universities, rankings are based on the average number of steps per participant, ensuring equal opportunities for both small and large universities to compete fairly. To be included in official rankings and prize categories, teams must consist of a minimum of 50 participants. Step by step, we’re making history, uniting Europe’s universities through movement for the very first time.

Our story
Hi! My name is Mark and I am the lead coordinator of this project, driven by a strong commitment to student engagement and social impact.
I am an active supporter of civic initiatives and student movements across Europe.I have completed an IRONMAN 70.3 and am currently preparing for my first full-distance IRONMAN, experiences that have shaped my discipline, resilience, and leadership mindset. For nearly four years, I have been a student activist, leading the Tallinn University of Technology Student Union and representing students at the European level as Chairman of a EuroTeQ alliance’s student representation.
I am now leading UNISTEPS, a European Universities Championships of walking that brings students together to promote physical activity, inclusivity, and community, one step at a time.
